ماليَ في عُذُريَّتي عُذرُ

قَد انقَضَى العُمرُ فلا عُمرُ

I have no excuse for my youthfulness

Life has passed, there is no more life

إن الثلاثين التي قد مَضَت

فيها لذي مُعتَبرٍ خُبرُ

Those thirty years that have passed

In them is news for one who takes heed

هَبنيَ قد عَمَّرت أَمثالها

أَلَيسَ عُقبَاها هو القبرُ

It has made me live the likes of them

Is not its sequel the grave?

أستغفرُ الله فكم مُذنبٍ

يُرجَى له من ربِّه الغَفرُ

I ask God's forgiveness, for how many sinners

Can hope from their Lord forgiveness
