وخذني عصا موسى وهات جميعهم

ولو أنهم حيات ضال نضائض

Take Moses' staff and bring them all

Even if they are stray snakes, biting

يذيعون في عيبي عجائب جمة

وقد يتمنى الليث والليث رابض

Spreading strange rumors about my faults

While the lion wishes and stays still

ويرجون ما لا يبلغون كمثل ما

يرجى محالاً في الإمام الروافض

They hope for what they cannot attain, like

What the Rawafidh Imam hopes for in vain

ولو جلدي في كل قلب ومهجةٍ

لما أثرت فيها العيون المرائض

If my skin was in every heart and brain

Eyes would not leave a trace or cause pain

أبت عن دني الوصف ضربة لازبٍ

كما أبت الفعل الحروف الخوافض

My description of my flaws a glancing blow

Like words of dissidents that briefly show

ورأيي له في كل ما غاب مسلك

كما تسلك الجسم العروق النوابض

My view for all that's hidden finds a way

As blood pulses through veins night and day

يبين مدب النمل في غير مشكل

ويستر عنهم للقبول المرابض

Revealing ants' trails without any trouble

While hiding what minds poorly struggle
