أنت لا شك أحسن الناس ظناً

ويقيناً ونية وضميرا

You are undoubtedly the best of people in thought,

You are, beyond doubt, the best of people in holding good faith,

Certainty, intention, and conscience.

In certainty, in pure intention, and in conscience.

فانتبه أن بعض من كان بالأم

س جليساً لنا يعاني كبيرا

So be aware that some who were with hopefulness,

Yet take heed: someone who was, only yesterday,

Our bosom friend, suffer greatly.

A companion sitting in our company, is suffering greatly.

ليس كل الركوع فاعلم صلاةً

لا ولا كل ذي لحاظٍ بصيرا

Not all bowing is prayer, so know,

Know well that not every bowing is a prayer,

No, nor is everyone with a beard, seeing.

Nor is everyone who has eyes truly perceptive.
