بحُلا يوسُفٍ وغُرّ صِفاتي

يُهْتَدى للصِّلات أو للصّلاةِ

With beauty like Joseph's and charm of character

One is guided to intimacy or to prayer

فلِهذِي سيْرُ النّدى في النّوادي

ولهذي سِرّ الهُدَى في الفلاةِ

For this the dew journeys through meadows

For this the secret of guidance in wastelands
