وقالوا صِفْ لنا شهُبَ الدّياجي

لدَى أفُقٍ أطَلْتُ لهُ وُقوفِي

They said, "Describe for us the meteors of Diyaji

As I stood gazing at the horizon,

فقلْتُ هيَ العيونُ فقِيلَ لكن

عُيونُ الزّنْجِ من خِلَلِ السّجوفِ

So I said, ‘They are eyes.’ But I was told,

‘The eyes of the Zanj through the bars.’
