مَعالمُ الدّولةِ النّصْريّةِ اتّضَحتْ

بيوسُفٍ ومَرامي قصْدِهِ نجَحَتْ

The pillars of the victorious state became clear

Through Yusuf and his fulfilled goals succeeded

موْلىً لبذْلِ النّدَى والبأسِ راحَتُهُ

بالسّيفِ كم سفَحَتْ للسّيْبِ كم صفَحَتْ

A master granting generosity and valor his comfort

With the sword how much it let blood spill and how much it forgave

حُسامُهُ تحتَ دوْحٍ من عوامِلِهِ

يسيل نهْراً ونارُ الحَرْبِ قد لفَحَتْ

Its blade under the palace of his pillars

Flows a river while the fire of war flared up

يحمي ويَبذُلُ ما تحْوي خزائِنُهُ

للهِ ما منعَتْ يُمْناهُ أو منَحَتْ

It protects and expends what its treasuries contain

To God what its fortune gave or enriched

ثبْتٌ إذا ارْتاعَتِ الأبطالُ يومَ وغىً

سمْحٌ يُنيرُ مُحيّاهُ وقد كلَحَتْ

Steadfast when the heroes shudder on a day of turmoil

Clement it illuminates his face even when gloom prevailed

تراهُ بَدْراً وليلُ النقْعِ مُنسَدِلٌ

ومَوئلاً وبحارُ الرّوعِ قد طفَحَتْ

You see it a full moon while the night of desolation descends

And a refuge while the seas of fear overflowed

ومولِدٍ عمّتِ الدُنْيا بَشائِرُهُ

كالشمْسِ أنوارُها في أفْقِها وضحَتْ

And a birth the world was filled with its omens

Like the sun its lights clarified on the horizon

وافَى بهِ شهرُ ميلادِ الذي بظُبا

كفّيْكَ مِلَّتُهُ الغرّا قدِ اتّضَحَتْ

And it fulfilled with him the month of the birth that in Doha

Suffices you its creed the honor became clear

راقت بهِ دوحةُ الإسْلامِ وابتهجَتْ

واليُمْنُ فوقَ رُباها طيْرُهُ سنحَتْ

Doha of Islam relaxed with it and rejoiced

And good fortune above its head its bird built

فارتاحَتِ السُمْرُ والبيضُ الرّقاقُ إلى

يُمناهُ والخيل في ميدانِها مرحَتْ

So the brown and white pages relaxed toward

Its fortune and the horses frolicked in its field

جَلا مُحيّاً يروقُ النّاظرينَ سنىً

لوْ أنّ شمسَ الضحى جارتْهُ لافتضَحَتْ

It revealed a shining face pleasing the onlookers

If the sun competed it would be outshone

أهْلاً بِها غرةً غرّاء لو لمَحَتْ

صبْغَ الدّياجي بأنوارِ الهُدى لمحَتْ

Welcome prime time though if it glimpsed

The dye of daybreak with the lights of guidance it would glow

فاهْنأْ بهِ وبصِنْوَيْهِ وقِرَّ بهِمْ

عيْناً ودُمْ ما هَدَتْ عينٌ وما سرَحَتْ

So congratulate him and his sword and stand by them

An eye and blood that have not swerved or roamed

وقبلَهُ وافَتِ الأجْفانُ مُهْديةً

بُشْرَى بها فوق لُجِّ البحْرِ قد سبحَتْ

And meet him with fluttering eyelids heralding

Good news with which above the sea foam they swam

بُشْرى أتتْكَ من المسْعودِ قائِلَةً

هَذي الصِّفاحُ دَمَ الأعْداءِ قد سفحَتْ

Good news came to you from the blessed saying

From the rise of lights it became clear

فمن مطالِعِ أنوارٍ بها اتّضحَتْ

ومن ميادين آمالٍ بها انفَسحَتْ

And from the fields of hopes it became spacious

While before his father the most sublime granted him

وقبْلُ والِدُهُ الأرْضَى وهَبْتَ لهُ

ما لا تَجودُ به نفْسٌ ولا سمَحَتْ

What no soul freely gave or enriched

But he squandered some rationality when he saw

لكنّ ضيّعَ بعضَ الحزْمِ حينَ أرَى

مَيْلاً إلى فئةٍ غَشّتْ وما نصحَتْ

An inclination towards a group that deceived and did not advise

So you stood firm in resolve again

فقُمتَ بالأمْرِ ثَبْتَ العزمِ ثانيةً

حتى كأنّ جُيوشَ النّصرِ ما برِحَتْ

As if the armies of victory did not rest

You fulfilled his right in every honor

وفَّيْتَهُ حقَّهُ من كلِّ مكْرُمَةٍ

وإن نأتْ بكَ عنهُ الدّارُ أو نزَحَتْ

Even if the house turned from him or moved away

The Romans circulated cups of joy until

أدارَتِ الرومُ أكْواسَ السّرورِ إلى

أن صحّ عزْمُكَ فارْتاعَتْ لهُ وصحَتْ

Your resolve sobered so they feared it and woke

Yesterday they raged in their ignorance and called

بالأمْسِ قد جَمَحَتْ في غيّها ودَعَتْ

للحرْبِ واليومَ نحْوَ السِّلْم قد جنَحَتْ

For war, and today they inclined towards peace

This is the victory and its regiments arrived

هذا هُوَ النصْرُ وافتْ من كتائبه

جِيادُ عِزٍّ بمَيْدان العُلَى جَمَحَتْ

The steeds of glory gathered in the field of the sublime

This is the quality its factories perfected

هذا هوَ الصُّنع راقَتْها مصانِعُهُ

لمُرْتَقى أوْجِها أبْصارُها طمَحَتْ

For the pinnacle their sights aspired

The aggressor's slightest tendencies were blocked

سُدَّت على المُعْتَدي أدْنى مذاهِبه

وإن أقْصى بلادٍ عندهُ فُتِحَتْ

Even if the furthest land to him was opened

So O multiplier of my troubles with his blessings

فَيا مُكثّرَ حُسّادي بأنْعُمِه

ويا مُغرِّبَ آمالي التي نزَحَتْ

And disappearer of my hopes that wandered

You have provided me with the essence of generosity that delighted

أوْلَيْتَني من عَميم الجودِ ما بهِجَتْ

بهِ النّفوسُ ونالَتْ كلّما اقترَحتْ

The souls and obtained all that it desired

For that O king of the world and its delight

لِذاك يا ملِكَ الدنيا وبهْجتَها

حمائِمُ الفِكْرِ في روْضِ المنَى صدَحَتْ

The doves of thought in the meadows chirped

And your grateful servant expresses from his praises

وعبْدُ نعْماكَ يُبْدي من مدائِحِه

أزاهِراً في رياضِ الطّرْسِ قد نفحَتْ

Flowers that bloomed in the meadows and diffused their scent

His thoughts on achieving the purpose stopped

أفْكارُهُ عن بُلوغِ القَصْدِ قد وقفَتْ

في المَدْحِ إذ سرَحَتْ والوَصْفَ ما شرَحَتْ

In praise when they roamed and description they did not explain

How can I fulfill when I have become one praising

أنّى أوَفّي وقدْ أصْبَحْتُ ممْتدِحاً

ذاتاً بآيِ كِتاب اللهِ قد مُدِحَتْ

One whose essence is praised in God's scripture

Praises display from her traits pearls

تُبْدي المدائِحُ من أوصافِها دُرَراً

بِها إذا انتظمتْ أجيادُها اتّشَحَتْ

With which lined up their steeds adorned themselves

So remain as long as the shining dawn dispelled gloom

فدُمْتَ ما أعْقَبَ الصُّبْحُ المنيرُ دُجىً

في جنحِهِ الشّهْبُ نحوَ الغربِ قد جَنَحتْ

In its wings the meteors inclined towards the west
