1. هيَ الديارُ فَما تبْدو بَوادِيها

    إلا اهْتَدى كُلُّ هَيْمانٍ بِوادِيها

    It is the abode, so its valleys do not appear

    Except every wanderer was guided by its valleys

  2. مَعاهِدٌ قُدِّسَتْ أرْضاً فقدْ ضمِنَتْ

    رِفْداً لقاصِدِها وِرْداً لصادِيها

    A pledged land, sanctified, it guaranteed

    Provision for its seekers, and flowers for its companions

  3. كمْ قد دعَتْنا إلى السُقْيا موارِدُها

    وإنْ عدَتْنا عنِ اللُّقْيا عَوادِيها

    How much its springs called us to watering

    And if we turned away from encountering it, its plateaus

  4. أهْدَتْ بطيِّ صباها من صَبابَتِنا

    أمانةً ليْتَ شِعْري هلْ تُؤَدّيها

    Its early youth gave from our youthfulness

    A trust, I wish I knew, will it fulfill it?

  5. كمْ قُلّبَتْ من قُلوبٍ في أباطِحِها

    وكمْ تشكّتْ نَواها في نَوادِيها

    How many hearts it turned in its resting places

    And how much it complained of its meadows in its valleys

  6. فالوجْدُ جدَّ بها لوْ كان يُنْجِدُها

    والصّبرُ لاذَتْ بهِ لو كان يُجْديها

    Passion was fervent with it, if it could help it

    And patience sought refuge in it, if it could avail it

  7. هذا وإنّا إلى عَذْراءَ قد وفدَتْ

    ترْتاحُ شوْقاً وبالأرْواحِ نَفْديها

    This while we went on pilgrimage to a chaste woman

    To find peace, and we ransom it with our souls

  8. عقيلةٍ قد تجلّى حُسْنُها فجَلا

    مِرآةَ فِكْري فليْسَ الدّهْرُ يُصْديها

    A woman whose beauty manifested and shone

    The mirror of my thoughts, time cannot resist it

  9. تختالُ مَوْشيّةَ الأبْرادِ رُبّتَما

    وَشَى بها وشْيُها لوْلا تَهادِيها

    She walks proudly like a doe

    Her gait adorned it, if not for her pace

  10. نادَيْتُها جودِي ومُبْتَذَلٌ

    فِينا نَداها كَما قدْ عزّ نادِيها

    I called her my generosity, and cheap

    Among us was her call, as her caller was dear

  11. إنّ المنادى هو الممْطولُ وا عجَباً

    ما بالُ هاتيكَ ممْطولٌ مُناديها

    Indeed the caller is outstretched, how strange!

    Why does the one called outstretch the one calling?

  12. للهِ هادٍ إلى قصْدِ السّبيلِ هَدَى

    أفْكارَ فكْري بما منها يُهادِيها

    To God a guide, to the aim of the path guided

    The thoughts of my thinking, what guides it guides it

  13. أرْواحُنا جعلَتْ ذُخْراً محَبَّتَها

    تُريحها يوْمَ يبْديها تَنادِيها

    Our souls made its love a treasure

    To comfort it the day its longing calls it

  14. شريفةُ المنتَمى في الآخرينَ أتَتْ

    وأحْرَزَتْ منتَهى العَلْيا مَباديها

    Noble in origin among others she came

    And attained the utmost heights in her goals

  15. صدّتْ طَويلاً ولكنْ عندَما رضيَتْ

    أضْحى إلى مُرْتَضى اللُّقْيا تَصدّيها

    She spurned for long, but when she consented

    Her meeting became the desired aim of the encounter

  16. سِبْطُ النبيّ حَباني من عَقائِلِه

    ببِنْتِ فِكْرٍ يَروقُ السمْعَ شادِيها

    A descendant of the Prophet betrothed me from his clan

    With a daughter of intellect, pleasing to the hearing

  17. مُثيرةٌ بالْتِماسِ الرّفْدِ منْ علَمٍ

    ما ضلّتِ الخَلْقُ قَصْداً وهْو هاديها

    Stirring to seek knowledge, not once

    Did people go astray in purpose, it guiding them

  18. قد لاحَ بالرّبْوةِ الحمراءِ شمسَ هُدىً

    فليْسَ يخْفى عنِ الأبْصارِ باديها

    The red dawn rose with guidance

    Not hidden from sights were its expanses

  19. فما قبضْنا اللُهى لوْلا مكارمُها

    ولا بسَطْنا يَداً لوْلا أيادِيها

    So we never clenched, but for her virtues

    Nor extended a hand, but for her hands

  20. هذِه الخِلافةُ قد أعْلى معالِمَها

    فأيْنَ مَهديُّها منهُ وهاديها

    This caliphate elevated its landmarks

    So where is its Mahdi other than it guiding?

  21. هذِي البلاغةُ إنْ وافَتْ كتائِبُها

    يكُفُّ قُسُّ إيادٍ بَطْشَ أيْديها

    This eloquence, if its battalions come

    The grip of the mighty suffices its hands

  22. هذي السّماحةُ إنْ جفّتْ موارِدُها

    من كفِّ حاتِمِها تَندَى غَواديها

    This generosity, if its springs run dry

    The palms of its Hatem drip with its valleys

  23. هذي المعارفُ إنْ ضلّتْ كواكِبُها

    أشعّةُ الصُبْحِ تَهديها وتُهْديها

    This knowledge, if its planets go astray

    Rays of dawn guide it and lead it

  24. هذي العُفاةُ إذا تغْدو مؤمّلَةً

    هذي العُداةُ إذا يَبْدو تعَدّيها

    This bravery, if it undertakes in determination

    This enmity, if it shows its transgression

  25. يَجودُها سَيْبُهُ طوْعاً ويُرفِدُها

    يرُدُّها سيْفُهُ قهْراً ويُرْديها

    Its sword volunteers it, subdued

    Its blade returns it, conquered and devastated

  26. سنا تهَلُّلِهِ بادٍ لسائِلِهِ

    إنّ البروقَ غَواديها تُعاديها

    The flashes of its clouds portend rainfall for its asker

    For every lightning inspires its generosity

  27. فكلُّ بارقةٍ للجودِ يُبْدِعُها

    وكُلّ شارقةٍ للبِشْرِ يُبْديها

    And every gleaming for good tidings heralds it

    Is there favour or hand that comes, preceded

  28. هل نعْمةٌ أو يدٌ تأتي وقد سلفَتْ

    إلا وناصرُ دين اللهِ مُسْدِيها

    Except the supporter of God's religion extends it?

    The King, Most High, the Bestower whose palm

  29. المُنْعِمُ الملِك الأعْلى الذي وكفَتْ

    كفّاهُ جوداً وقدْ كُفَّتْ أعاديها

    Was enough in generosity, and enemies were restrained

    He excelled in spreading dew among people, rested

  30. ثَنى لبذْلِ النّدى في الخلْقِ راحَتَهُ

    فظلّ رائِحُها يُثْني وغاديها

    So its scent continues to spread in its valleys

    My Master continues to show from his virtues

  31. لازالَ موْلايَ يُبْدي من مَكارِمِه

    ما يُبْهِجُ الدّينَ والدنيا تَماديها

    What delights the religion and the life prolonging them

    The doves of thought in the garden of order became

  32. حَمائِمُ الفكْرِ في روْضِ النّظامِ غدَتْ

    صوادِحاً بالنّدى تَرْوي صوادِيها

    Crying with dew, watering its valleys
