لا تَدخُلَنَّكَ ضَجرَةٌ مِن سائِلٍ

لا تَدخُلَنَّكَ ضَجرَةٌ مِن سائِلٍ

فَلَخَيرُ دَهرِكَ أَن تُرى مَسؤولا

فَلَخَيرُ دَهرِكَ أَن تُرى مَسؤولا

Let no impatience with a petitioner overtake you;

for the best fortune of your life is to be seen as one from whom favors are asked.

لا تَجبَهَن بِالرَدِّ وَجهَ مُؤَمِّلٍ

لا تَجبَهَن بِالرَدِّ وَجهَ مُؤَمِّلٍ

فَبَقاءُ عِزِّكَ أَن تُرى مَأمولا

فَبَقاءُ عِزِّكَ أَن تُرى مَأمولا

Never meet the face of one who hopes with refusal;

for your honor endures when you are seen as one in whom hope is placed.

وَاِعلَم بِأَنَّكَ عَن قَليلٍ صائِرٌ

وَاِعلَم بِأَنَّكَ عَن قَليلٍ صائِرٌ

خَبَراً فَكُن خَبَراً يَروقُ جَميلا

خَبَراً فَكُن خَبَراً يَروقُ جَميلا

And know that, before long, you will become

a story—so be a beautiful story that delights.
