1. يا مَن يُقَبِّلُ كَفَّ كُلِّ مُخَرَّقٍ

    هَذا اِبنُ يَحيى لَيسَ بِالمِخراقِ

    O you who kiss the palm of every lavish giver,

    here is Ibn Yahya—no mere lavish giver.

  2. قَبِّل أَنامِلَهُ فَلَسنَ أَنامِلاً

    لَكِنَّهُنَّ مَفاتِحُ الأَرزاقِ

    Kiss his fingertips: they are not fingertips,

    but keys to sustenance.
