1. له صورةٌ يَسْتَحِنُ القردُ عندها

    على أَنَّ وجهَ القردِ أَحسنُ منظرا

    He has a face before which monkeys humble themselves,

    As if the monkey's face were the more comely sight.

  2. إذا ما ابتداني بالحديثِ حَسِبْتُهُ

    تَسَوَّكَ من فَرطِ النتّونةِ

    When he begins to speak to me, I fancy

    He is chewing betel from excess of daintiness.
