قُل للذي تَركَ جاهلاً

وَلَهُ بكاساتِ المدام وُلوعُ

Tell the one who ignorantly abandoned,

and was distraught from wineglasses,

إنّ المدامة إن أَردتَ تَطَوّعاً

لَهيَ المحرَم والحشيشُ رَبيعُ

indeed intoxication, if you wish instead as leisure,

it is forbidden, and hashish is blissful spring.
