رأَيتُ سراراً على رأسه
عمامة دارَتْ على قَرنهِ
I saw Sarār: atop his head,
a turban coiled around his horn;
كأنّها مِنْ صُفْرَةٍ خَرْيةٌ
وَرُبّما سالَتْ على ذَقنهِ
as though, from his sallow hue, it were a turd—
and perhaps it had trickled down his chin.
