Alas for a night by the Gulf I spent awake
Tossing and turning, sleepless on the shore
The light kept me company, yet left me lonesome
Filled with strange thoughts in a jumbled mix
My bedmate and I tossed and turned together
Sprawled on the ground atop a simple mat
The winds blew strong, rushing faster than
The gales of stormy February come
I'd been so drowsy until woken up
By the sudden banging sounds it brought
Still I breathed deep of its rancid scent
Until my mucus turned to liquid out
O you ripped open by gusts of wind
