فصل الربيع بوجهه قد أَقبلا

متبسماً ببدائع الأزهار

Springtime came smiling, graced with flowers of charm,

And meadows turned verdant, fresh, and warm.

وَغدا به نبتُ الخمائل مخْضَلا

يحكي السما بالنور والأنوار

As though the land was decked in pearls and jewels rare,

The sky now shines with light and radiance fair.

فكأنَهُ حلّى الربى أَو كلّلا

إذ أَنجما بجواهرٍ وَنُضار

Among the gardens birds trill and sing,

Making sweet music as they take wing.

والطيرُ بين رياضه قد رتَلا

مُترنما يُلهي عن المزمار

Thanks be to God, whose might none deride,

For blessings greater than the boundless tide.

شكراً لِمُبْدعه تعالى ذي العلا

ما أَعظما من واحد قهّار

Clouds promise rain, as they march and form

Across the heavens, a mighty storm.

وتخالُ هاتيكَ السحائبُ هُطّلا

لمّا همى سحاحها بقطار

King Al-Hami reigns, his rule is just,

Lifting the lowly from the dust.

جودُ المليك الصالح الهامي على

من أَعدما بنواله الزّخار

A king whose grace is like the rain,

Nourishing people over every plain.

مَلِك إذا ما حلَّ قطراً ممحلا

متكرماً كالقطر للأقطار

I laud and praise his noble name,

Protector of all those who came.

أَورى وأروى مُبرقاً أَو مسبلا

مُهجاً وما لعداه والأنصار

With sword held high he smites the cruel,

So tears of joy flow for the merciful.

وترى الكماةَ إذا أَثارَ القسطلا

تبكي دَما بالصارم البتار

God lengthen his reign, upright and wise!

What braver, kinder king could arise?

فاللهُ يكلأ ملكَهُ ما أَعدلا

ما أَكرما من باسلٍ مِغوار

But for him, poetry would still remain

Silent, after years of darkness and pain.

لولاه سعُر الشّعر سوماً ما غلا

إذ نُظَّما من بعد طول بوار

Now lines flow free, their meaning is clear,

Where once all was doubt and fear.

كلا ولا اتضحت مذاهبُه ولا

ما استَبْهما أضحى عليَّ منار

His minister, honored and esteemed, is wise

Bringing pride to every set of eyes.

ووزيره الفخرُ الذي قد خوّلا

بالمنتمي فخراً على النظار

The palace restored, a sheltering fort,

Where once neglect held court.

والدارُ تمّمها لعزٍّ مَعقِلا

أسنى حمى فغدا تميمُ الدار

Let them celebrate in this season blessed!

Joy to all, from west to east!

فَلْيُهنِه عيد أَتاه مُقبلا

جذلاً بما أَولاه في الأمصار

May they ever reign, rule justly and well,

While the light of day continues to dwell.

لا زالَ ما تالى أَخير أَوّلا

مُتَنَعِّما ما لاحَ ضوءُ نَهار
