1. ألا خير ما تسعى لتحصيله الورى

    كتابٌ منَ الرَّحمن بالنّور سطِّرا

    Behold, the best that one strives to attain in life

    Is a book from the Merciful illuminated with light

  2. كتابٌ كريمٌ شافي الخطِّ كافيا

    يجلُّ ويغلو أَنْ يباعَ وَيُشترى

    A noble book, its script healing and sufficient

    Too sublime and lofty to be sold or bought

  3. ولقَيته الحصنَ الحصينَ وإنّه

    لَحُصْنٌ بآيِ اللهِ باتَ منّوراً

    I met it, a strong and mighty fortress

    Fortified with God's verses, radiant and bright

  4. غدا ليلةً فيهِ التمائمُ جُنّةٌ

    لِمَنْ كانَ منصورَ اللّواءِ مُظفرا

    In the night when talismans are like armed hosts

    Victorious is he who holds its banner of might

  5. وَمن فَضلهِ أَنَّ العَدوَّ إذا رأى

    لحامله أَمسى بهِ متأخرا

    When the enemy sees it with its bearer

    They retreat, overpowered without a fight

  6. يلوحُ عظيماً في النفوس مبجلا

    عزيزاً مهيباً في العيونِ موقرا

    Glorious it shines in souls, revered

    Honored, cherished by eyes with delight

  7. وكم حاملِ لمَّا رأتهُ تَخلَصَتْ

    وأَحضرها الطّلقُ الذي قد تعسرا

    How many bearers when seeing it were freed

    As bonds dissolved, once stubborn and tight

  8. وكم أرمدِ بالسحر قد كانَ أَكمها

    فَلما أى ما فيه في الحال أبصرا

    How many blind, its words made seeing

    As soon as they beheld its healing sight

  9. وذات نزيفِ بالدِّماءِ رات به

    عَياناً وَقَد قامت من الدَّمِ أَبحرا

    A bleeding woman, it stanched her flows

    And stopped her hemorrhaging, once a plight

  10. وأَرملةٌ عطلٌ منَ الزَّوج قد غدا

    به أَمرُها بالخاطبينَ مُيَسّرا

    A widow, bereft of husband, it made

    Her affairs with suitors easy and right

  11. فيا لكَ حرزاً أَحرزَ النّقعَ كُلَهُ

    وأَربى على من حازَهُ ملكُ قيصرا

    O what a protection, warding all evil

    More powerful than any emperor's might
