I say, as the meadows of poppies have appeared

Colorfully adorned, none like them among the poppies

The cheeks have lost their blush to the meadow’s redness

And the heart gained its blackness from every lover

So all who are loved, journey on guarding your cheek

And teach your heart its blackness, O all who love!
