ليلُ الجسوم إذا ولَّتْ منازلُه

فأنّ فجرَ ضياءِ الصبح نازله

When the night of sorrows passes its abodes,

The dawn of morning light surely descends.

لذا أتى بالضحى عقيبَ رحلته

ورقبت عند باقيه دلائله

So it came with the brightness after its journey,

And its remaining signs watched over its tracks.

وأضحك الروضُ أزهاراً وقد رقصتْ

من الغصونِ بأوراقِ غَلائِلهْ

The garden smiled with flowers and branches

Danced with the leaves of its dangling vines.

وما تبسَّم إلا كي يفرحنا

فلاحَ يانعه إذ راحَ ذابلُه

It only smiled to bring us joy,

Flourishing beautifully as its bloom faded.

إنَّ التقي الذي في الروض مسكنه

هو الصدوق الذي عدت فضائله

Indeed, the pious one whose abode is in the garden

Is the truthful one whose virtues I counted.

كما الشقي الذي في الارض مسكنه

هو الكذوب الذي تردى رذائله

As for the wretched one whose abode is on earth,

He is the liar whose evils dragged him down.

وصاحبُ البرزخ الأعرافُ منزله

زُمَّتْ لرحلته عنا رَواحله

And the companion of the intermediate realm, his abode,

His supplies were prepared for his journey from us.

اليسرُ شيمةُ ذا والعسر شيمةُ ذا

لولا عطاءُ الغني ما نيلَ نائله

Ease is the trait of this one, and hardship the trait of that,

If not for the Generous’s giving, no seeker would attain his desire.

منه تعالى وما كانت مقالةٌ من

قد كان منطقه عيناً يقابله

From Him, the Exalted - no words were spoken

Unless their meaning looked back at them.

كان التولي له من أصلِ نشأته

فمن تولَّى تولَّته أباطله

To take charge of him was inherent in his origins,

So whatever takes charge of him takes charge of his nullities.

من نازعَ الحقَّ في شيء يكون له

فلن ينازعه إلا مقابله

Whoever contends with the Truth in anything that belongs to Him

None will contend with Him except his counterpart.
