الذاتُ تشهد في المجلى وليس لنا

حكم عليها بنعتٍ لم يزل فيه

The self bears witness in the assembly, and we have

No judgment over it with an attribute that has not ceased within it

إلا تحوّلها إلا تبدّلها

في كلِّ مجلى وهذا فيه ما فيه

Except its transformation, except its change

In every assembly, and this contains what it contains

في العقل لا في نصوصِ الشرعِ فالتزموا

قولَ المشرِّعِ إذ كان الهدى فيه

In the mind, not in the texts of the law, so adhere

To the words of the Lawgiver, since guidance was in it

فليس من صور أدنى ولا صور

عليا تشاهد إلا حكمها فيه

So there are no lower forms, nor higher forms

That you witness except that its judgment is within it

فإنْ رأت حجراً وإن رأت شجراً

وإنْ رأت حيواناً كلها فيه

If it saw a stone, and if it saw a tree

And if it saw an animal, all of it is within it

هو الوجود ولكن ما حكمت به

فإنه عين أعيانٍ بدتْ فيه

It is existence, but whatever it judged by

It is the essence of essences that appeared within it
