الله يجعلني عبداً ويعصمني

من السيادةِ حالاً إنها شومُ

May God make me a servant and protect me

From sovereignty, for it is ominous

ما دمتُفي حالِ تكاليفٍ وفي حُجُبٍ

والنور منكشفٌ والسرّ مكتومُ

As long as I am bound by duties and veils

While the light is unveiled and the secret concealed

أقصى السيادة إني منه صورته

وإنني حاكمٌ والخلقُ محكوم

The height of sovereignty, I am made in its image

Yet I am a ruler and people are ruled

وكون خلقا هو المطلوب من خلقي

والحق خالقه والأمر مفهوم

To be a creation is what's required of my making

God is its creator and the matter is understood

إن قمت قام به أو كنت له

هذا المرادُ الذي في الشرع معلوم

If I stand, it is by Him I stand or if I am for Him

This is the intent that is known in the Shariah

فالله يرزقني مما يليق به

من المعارفِ مما فيه تقسيم

So may God grant me what befits Him

Of wisdoms containing division

قد قلت حقاً ولا أدري طريقته

وهو القؤولُ وإني فيه موهوم

I have spoken truth yet know not its way

And He is the Speaker though I am deluded

بالوهم كان لنا مما قلت كان له

فيه لناظره أمر وتحكيم

By delusion was what I said, was for Him

For the onlooker in it is command and judgment

الحكم حكم صلاتي لو تحققه

بيني وبين الإله الحق مقسوم

The judgement is the judgement of my devotion if realized

Between me and the True God divided

فمن يكون ملكياً في تصرّفه

فذلك الشخصُ بين الناسِ محروم

Whoever is kingly in his disposal

Is that person among people deprived

أعمى جهولٌ ضعيقُ الرأي مختبط

وهو الظلوم وفي التحقيق مظلوم

Blind, ignorant, weak in opinion, confused

He is the unjust and in truth oppressed

ومن يكون عبيداً في تقلبه

فذلك الشخصُ مشكورٌ ومرحوم

And whoever is servile in his turning

Is that person thanked and mercy blessed

هذا المقام الذي أبغيه فزتُ به

وإنني فيه محفوظٌ ومعصوم

This is the station I seek and have won

And I in it am protected and infallible
