1. If you are concerned with a matter and must speak,

    then speak of it with knowledge; do not speak from conjecture.

  2. For whoever has spoken from conjecture is surely in error—

    so it is stated in the Qur’an, if you possess understanding.

  3. Do not be given to discursive thought if you seek

    direct witnessing of realities; and beware delusion.

  4. Abide by God’s judgment in every state,

    for whoever upholds that judgment has triumphed in apprehension.

  5. Whoever speaks to confound is himself given bewilderment;

    so do not venture into it except on the basis of knowledge.

  6. Then among the folk of unveiling you will be a servant specially designated

    by His Most Beautiful Names, far removed from outward form.

  7. Be a mount for the Command, and you will attain your desires;

    nor be one whose heart is devoid of the body.

  8. There is no entity that apprehends the entity itself,

    and so is free of determinate quality and quantity.
