Claude 2

  1. إذا كنتَ تطلبُ ما تركبُ

    وكان لكم كونه المذهبُ

    If you seek what you ride

    And it was your doctrine

  2. وقمتَ به حين قامت بكم

    صفاتٌ تُعار ولا تكسبُ

    And you did it when qualities

    That are borrowed and not earned stood up in you

  3. فمنه إليه يكون الذي

    تسمونه الملجأ المهرب

    Then from Him to Him will be the one

    You call the refuge, the escape

  4. أتاكم بجبريله منزلاً

    يوحي على قلبكم يكتب

    Did his Gabriel come down to you

    Inspiring your heart, writing

  5. وما هو جبريل إرساله

    ولكنه مَثَلٌ يضرب

    And it is not Gabriel sending him

    But an example being struck

  6. فلستُ نبياً ولا مرسلاً

    وإني له وارث أحجب

    So I am not a prophet or a messenger

    Yet I am his heir, obscured

  7. وإن جمعت بيننا حضرة

    فإني أنا الحاجب الأقرب

    And if a presence gathered between us

    Then I am the closest, the concealer

  8. لأني خديم له تابع

    أوامره سيِّدٌ مُنجب

    Because I am a servant following him

    The orders of my master, fecund

  9. يقول لي الله من عرشه

    وليّ أنا ذلك المطلب

    Allah tells me from His Throne

    And that is my request

  10. ظهرتُ بصورةِ ارسالنا

    إليكم وإياكمُ أطلب

    I appeared in the form of sending us

    To you and I seek you

  11. فأنت الوليّ لنا المجتبى

    لك الوهب والأخذ والمنصب

    So you are the chosen guardian for us

    For you is the grant, the taking and the position

  12. نصبت من أسمائنا مسلماً

    لكم فاعرجوا فيه لا ترهبوا

    I named from our names Muslim

    For you so ascend in it, do not dread

  13. ولا ترغبوا عن وجودي إذا

    وصلتم وفيه ألا فارغبوا

    And do not shrink from my existence if

    You connected, yes shrink

  14. وكم قلتُ فيكم ولم تسمعوا

    قواكم أنا فافرحوا واطربوا

    And how much I said in you and you did not hear

    I am your strength so rejoice and be glad

  15. إذا ما سعيتَ لأمرٍ أنا

    لك الرِّجلُ في سعيها فاعجبوا

    When you strived for something I

    Am your foot in its striving so marvel

  16. تعاليت عن ذا وعن ذا فما

    أنا مثلكم فكلوا واشربوا

    I transcended this and that so I am not

    Like you so eat and drink

  17. هنيئاً مريئاً ولكن بنا

    فنحن لك المأكل والمشرب

    Congratulations visible, but in us

    For we are your food and drink

  18. فإني القويُ وعينُ القوي

    وإني المقوّى الذي يطلب

    For I am the strong and the eye of the strong

    And I am the empowered one who seeks

  19. فجولوا بميدان أسمائنا

    فميدان أسمائنا ملعب

    So roam in the field of our names

    For the field of our names is a playground

  20. أفسر قولي بما أشتهي

    لتضمينه كل ما يرغب

    I interpret my words as I wish

    Including all that is desirable

  21. فسبحان من كلنا عينه

    ولسنا وليس وما نكذب

    So glory to Him whose eyes we all are

    And we are not and there is not and we do not lie
