وإنْ لبس الجُرمُوقَ وهو مسافرٌ

على طهره يمسحُ وفي سرِّه خفا

And if he wears socks while traveling

Wiping over them though in private wearing shoes

ثلاثةُ أيّام وإن كان حاضراً

بمنزله فالمسحُ يوماً بلا قضا

Three days, and if resident

In his house then wiping lasts one day without stipulation

وفي ذا خلافٌ بيِّنٌ متحقِّقٌ

يقول به أهل الشريعة والهدى

And in this an evident, realized disagreement

Spoken by the people of Shari'ah and guidance

وفي المسح سرٌ لا أبوح بذكره

ولو قُطِّعتْ منك المفاصلُ والكُلى

And in wiping a secret I do not divulge in speech

Even if you cut my joints and kidneys to pieces

ويتلوه سرٌ في الجبائر بيِّنٌ

لكلِّ مُريدٍ لم يُرد ظاهر الدنا

And it is followed by an evident secret in plaster casts

For every aspirant who did not want the superficial world
