قرّة العينِ والبصرْ

جاء موسى على قدرْ

The delight of the eye and sight

Moses came with fate

بالذي يقتضي النظر

والذي يرتضي القدر

With what calls for consideration

And what destiny approves

من أمورٍ إذا بدتْ

أذهلتْ صاحبَ النظرْ

Of matters when they appear

They confound the beholder

قد تعالتْ فما يرا

ها سوى مَن له بصرْ

Exalted, nothing is seen

Except by the one with sight

والذي يدركونه

إنما ذلك الأثرْ

And what they perceive

Is merely the trace

مثلُ أسمائه العلى

التي عيَّن البشرْ

Like His supreme names

That people specify

وهي بالذات في حمى

مانع ما له خبر

Protected, unaware of it

A lineage, all belonging to it

نسبٌ كلها لها

نسبٌ في الذي ظهر

A lineage in what is apparent

Of my existence and affliction

من وجودي ومن بلو

غي إلى غاية العمر

To the end of life

And my transition that concludes

وانتقالي ما ينتهي

هكذا جاء في الزُّبُر

Thus it came in scriptures

Of lasting bliss

من نعيمٍ مؤبَّدٍ

في جنان وفي نهر

In gardens and river

With a Lord all-powerful

عند ربِّ مؤيّدٍ

في الذي شاء مقتدر

In what He willed by might

Or eternal torment

أو عذابٍ سرمدٍ

في ضلالٍ وفي سَعَر

In misguidance and flame

We ask Allah for pardon

نسألُ الله عفوَه

فالكريمُ الذي غفر

The Generous One who forgave
