إني بليتُ بأمرٍ لستُ أعرفه

ولستُ أنكره والحكمُ لله

I am afflicted with a matter I do not recognize

Nor do I deny it, and the judgment belongs to Allah

جهلي به عين علمي والنعيم به

مثل العذاب به كالمال والجاه

My ignorance of it is the essence of my knowledge

And bliss through it is like torment with it, like wealth and status

إن قلت هو قال عين الكشف ليس بهو

أو قلت ذا لم يوافقني سوى الله

If I said it is, the essence of unveiling said it is not it

Or if I said this, none would agree with me but Allah

فهذه حِكَم يدري بها حكم

من أهملها مثل أهل الشرع في الباه

So these are wisdoms known to the Wise One

Neglected by the learned ones, like jurists wandering astray

فمن يوافقني فيها أوافقه

ومن يواقف قل يا سيدي ما هي

Whoever agrees with me in this, I agree with him

And whoever confronts me, say O master what is it?

فيعتريه إذا ما قلت ذا خرس

وهو الدليلُ عليه أنه ساهي

He will be struck dumb when I say this

And that is evidence that he is oblivious

فكل من في وجودِ الحقِّ يعرفه

إلا الذي هو في مقصودنا لا هي

So everyone in existence knows the Truth

Except the one who is the object of our purpose, not it
