إذا كانت الأشياء صنع حكيم

فحكمته فيها لكل عليمِ

If all things are made by the Wise One

Then His wisdom in them is known to all

فتعلمها الأرواح في كل حالة

وتجهلها أرواحُ كلِّ جسوم

So the spirits learn it in every state

Yet the spirits of each dense form are ignorant

أرى ظلمةَ الطبعِ المحكم فيهم

لتعمى قلوبٌ قيدتْ بعلوم

I see the darkness of their set nature in them

For hearts are blinded, bound by knowledge

وما هم إلاّ أنّ في الطبع نكتة

لها ظلمةٌ في قلبِ كلِّ ظلوم

And they are but that in nature there is a subtlety

With a darkness in the heart of each unjust

فأوّلُ مظلومٍ بها عينُ ذاتِه

وليس يرى ما قلتُ غيرُ فهيم

So the first unjust against it is the eye of his essence

And none see what I say but the understanding

إذا قصَّرتْ أفهام كلِّ محققٍ

فما قصَّرتْ عنها وعنه فهومي

When the understandings of every researcher fall short

Then it is not they or my understandings that fall short
