شمِّر فإن صفاتِ القومِ تشميرٌ

ولا لقولٍ على ما فيه تشطيرُ

Roll up your sleeves, for the traits of the people require effort

And do not over-interpret what is said

ولتأتِ بالكل إنَّ الكل مطلبُ مَن

أوحى إليك به فالأمرُ تشمير

Bring it all, for all is sought by the One

Who inspired you, so the matter requires effort

من يأتِ بالنص والإجمال يطلبه

قد جاء بالنصِّ لكن فيه تقصير

Whoever brings the text and the summary that is sought

Has brought the text, yet there is inadequacy

إذا أنتم بما يرضي نفوسكمُ

دون الإله به فأنت مغرور

When you are with what satisfies your souls

Apart from God, you are deluded

ما بين عدلٍ وفصلٍ حُكمُ خالقنا

فينا وللفصلِ دون العدلِ تقدير

Between justice and distinction is the judgement of our Creator

Regarding us, and distinction, not justice, is fate

كذا أتتنا نصوصُ العدلِ مخبرة

من الإله بما فيه التباشير

Thus the texts of justice came to us, informing

Us from God of the good news
