إذا رأيتُ وجوداً ما له حدُّ
أقبلتُ أعدو إليه وهو بي يعدو
If I saw an existence that has a limit
I would run towards it while it runs towards me
فقال لي وهو مِن ذاتي يخاطبني
إنَّ الوجودَ الذي رأيته فقدُ
It said to me while addressing me from my own essence
Indeed, the existence you saw has perished
فقلت أنتَ معي فقال أنت معي
كالفردِ يضربُ فيه عندنا الفردُ
So I said you are with me, so it said you are with me
Like the individual in whom the individual strikes in our view
لما رأيت وجودي لا يزايلني
علمتُ أنَّ وجودَ السيِّد العبد
When I saw my existence does not leave me
I knew that the existence of the Master is the existence of the servant
بذا أتتْ في كتابِ الله صورته
الأمر لله من قبلُ ومن بعد
Thus has its image come in the Book of Allah
The command is for Allah before and after
الحقُّ عندي معي بي وهو معتمدي
في كلِّ حالٍ إذا أروحُ أو أغدو
The Truth is with me, with me, and my support
In every state, whether I go or come
الجودُ يبغي وجودي فهو لي سَنَدٌ
وما لنا منه في أعياننا بدّ
Generosity seeks my existence, so it is my support
And we have no alternative to it in our entities
كمثلِ أسمائه الحسنى التي ثبتتْ
بالنصِّ يطلبها التقييدُ والعدُّ
Like His good names that were affirmed
By the text, enumeration and counting seek it
إن العقولَ لتحصيها مفصلة
فيها الخلافُ وفيها المثلُ والضدّ
Indeed, the intellects detail them comprehensively
In them is disagreement, equivalence and opposition
كذلك الحكم في كوني فأما أنا
أثبتها فلها الإثباتُ والوجد
So is the case regarding my existence. As for me
I affirm them for affirmation and existence belong to them
والحلم فينا الذي يعطي حقائقنا
الحلُّ والعقد والتليين والشدُّ
And the forebearance in us that gives our realities
Dissolving, binding, softening and toughening
هو الذي لم يزل يخفي حقيقته
بما هي اليومَ في أبصارنا تبدو
It is Him who has never ceased to conceal His reality
With what appears to our sights today
منه الأمور التي تشقى وتسعدنا
أخرى ويشهد ذا ألغيّ والرشد
From Him are the matters that make us miserable or happy
And others, and the witness to this, error and righteousness
