مفاتيح الغيبِ في أمِّ الكتابِ فمن

يقرأ بها صلاة فهي تكفيهِ

The keys to the unseen are in the Mother of the Book, so whoever

Reads with them a prayer, it will suffice him,

النصفُ منها له والنصفُ منها لنا

على اشتراكٍ وإفراد بتنزيه

Half of it is for him and half of it is for us,

With partnership and singling out in transcendence.

وفي التي قد تليها من برازخنا

علم صحيح وذاك العلم أدريه

And in the one that follows our crevices,

Is true knowledge, and that knowledge I know.

أتى بها الله للأسماع في بقر

يحيى بها ميتاً حياتُه فيه

God brought it to the hearings in the cows,

With it He gives life to a dead one, his life within it.

وآل عمران توحيدٌ بلا صفةٍ

من الصفاتِ التي أتت بتشبيه

And the Family of Imran is transcendent unity without attribute

Of the attributes that came with likening.

إلى النساء جنحنا في تلاوتنا

فهنَّ فرعٌ لنا بكلِّ توجيه

We leaned towards the women in our recitation,

For they are a branch for us in every direction.

وفي العقودِ لنا عقد عقدتُ به

ما بيننا ليوفى إذ نوفيه

And in the knots we have a knot I tied

What is between us to fulfill when we fulfill it.

إنَّ السكينةَ للأنعامِ قد نَزَلتْ

لما تلاها شخيصٌ جلَّ من فيه

Indeed tranquility for the cattle descended

When an eminent one recited it, full of glory within it.

السور من سورةِ الأعراف منشأه

بين الجنانِ وبين النار تبديه

The surahs from Surat Al-A'raf originated

Between the gardens and between the fire it shows.

أنفالُنا قد أُحلت للذي جُمعتْ

له العلومُ وهذا القدرُ يكفيه

Our war booties were made lawful for the one who gathered

The knowledges, and this measure suffices him.

وتوبة ما لديها اليوم بسملة

والاسم فيها وإنَّ الله يخفيه

And repentance, what it has today is lack of "Bismillah",

And the name in it, and indeed Allah conceals it.

وإنَّ في يونس من ربنا قدما

لنا بصدقٍ إذا ما كنت أعنيه

And indeed in Jonah from our Lord steps

To us in truth, when I was meaning it.

وإنَّ هوداً له من يوسفَ خبرٌ

من فبلِ تكوينِه ما زال يدريه

And indeed Hud has news from Joseph

From before his creation, he still knows it.

والرعد تسبيحه حمدٌ يقول به

خليله وهو إبراهيم يحويه

And thunder, His glorification is praise He says with it

His friend, and he is Abraham containing it.

بالحجر حجر وحي النحل حين سَرى

بفتيةِ الكهفِ في قربٍ من التيه

With Al-Hijr a stone, and the bee's revelation when he ascended

With the People of the Cave in a tomb from misguidance.

ومريمُ ثم طه فلتقلْ بهما

في الأنبياء بما أسمعتكم فيه

And Mary then Ta Ha, so say about them

In the prophets with what I related to you in it.

وإنّ زلزلةَ الإصعاق قال بها

المؤمنون لسرٍّ فيه يوحيه

And indeed the earthquake of Al-Saffat said with it

The believers for a secret in it He inspires.

النورُ فرقانُ من أفتنه ظلمته

والنملُ في قصص لها تجافيد

An-Noor, the criterion, whoever was misguided by its darkness,

And the ant in stories that have lessons.

والعنكبوتُ بنتْ بيتاً لتسكنه

والروم تهدمه وقتاً وتبنيه

And the spider built a house to live in it,

And Rome demolishes it for a time and builds it.

وجاء لقمان يتلو بيننا حكماً

بسجدةٍ لترى الأحزابَ تأتيه

And Luqman came reciting wisdom between us

With prostration, so you may see the factions coming to it.

وفي سبا فطروا ياسين واعتمدوا

على الصفوفِ لصاد شربه فيه

And in Saba they broke their dam and relied

On the rows, for the maker of the trench drank from it.

لما أتتْ نحونا أملاكه زُمَرا

بمؤمنٍ فُصلتْ بما يلاقيه

When His angels came to us in groups

With a believer, so it was separated with what meets it.

نعم وفي سورة الشورى لنا مثلٌ

من الإله بتنزيه وتشبيه

Yes, and in Surat Ash-Shura for us is an example

From God, with transcendence and likening.

وزخرفُ القولِ أبدته دجاجلةٌ

بسورةِ الدُّخ صافٍ قد جثا فيه

And the ornament of speech showed it the turtledoves

With Surat Ad-Dukhan, pure, kneeling in it.

أحقافه أوقعت فيها القتال وما

فتح لحجر بقاف إذ تقفيه

Its title made fighting fall in it, and what

Opening for a stone with Qaf when standing over it.

والذارياتُ التي في الطور مسكنُها

هي الدواء لمن قد جاء يبغيه

And the spreaders that reside in the Mount

Are the cure for whoever came seeking it.

النجمُ والقمر العالي يسقفه ال

رحمنُ عيناً وفي الآفاق يبديه

The star and the high moon roofing it,

The Merciful, a spring, and in horizons shows it.

وكلُّ نازلة في الكون واقعة

من الحديد الذي بأساؤه فيه

And every incident in the universe is

From the iron which in its evenings is within it.

فإن أتت نونا عينٌ تجادُلنا

فالحشر يجمعنا وفيه ما فيه

So if Nun comes, an eye disputing us,

Then the Gathering brings us together and what is in it.

ولتمتحن نسوة في الدين هنَّ له

مهاجرات بلا عجبٍ ولا تيه

And to test women in religion, they for Him

Are emigrants without wonder or confusion in it.

والصفُّ للجمعاتِ سنة ثبتت

ما للمنافق حظ فيه يشفيه

And the rows are for the groups, a sunnah established,

No share for the hypocrite in it to heal him.

إنَّ التغابنَ إنْ طلقت سابقةٌ

فلا تحرّم له ملكاً توافيه

Indeed, the mutual loss, if an excelling wife

Is divorced, then do not forbid for him a spouse meeting him.

رأيت بالقلم الأعلى محققَه

عند المعارج إذ نوحٌ يواليه

I saw with the Supreme Pen proven

At the ways of ascent when Noah follows it.

والجنُّ يعضده التزميل حين أتى

مد ثريده منه إلى فيه

And the jinn supporting it, the allied, when he came

Extending its threads from it to what is in it.

وفي القيامة إنسانٌ بها لسن

بالمرسلات ِ وعم النور يأتيه

And in the Resurrection a person with it, for evil

With those sent forth, and the light comes to it.

بالنازعاتِ والأعمى كوّرت شمسٌ

والانفطار مع التطفيف يحميه

With the extractors and the blind the sun rounded,

And the cleaving with the defrauding protect it.

والانشقاق إذا عاينت صورته

عند البروجِ تجده طارقاً فيه

And the rending, when you witness its image

At the mansions, you find it a knocker within it.

سبح إلهكم الأعلى بغاشية

بالفجر في بلدِ الشمسِ تبديه

Glorify your highest God with the overwhelmer

At dawn in the land of the sun manifesting it.

والليلُ عند الضحى يأتيه شارحه

بالتينِ في علقٍ وقدره فيه

And the night at dawn comes to it expander

With the fig during hanging and its decree within it.

ولم يكن زلزلوا بالعادياتِ إذا

ما القارعاتُ أتتْ بالقبر تلهيه

And they were not shaking with the runners when

The striking came with the grave distracting it.

والعصر يهمز فيلاً بالحجارة إذ

جاءتْ قريشٌ بدينِ الحوضِ تنشيه

And the time berates an elephant with the pelting rocks when

Quraysh came with the religion of the Pool nourishing it.

وكافرٍ قد أبى نصراً فكان له

التبُّ من سورة الإخلاص يأتيه

And a disbeliever who refused victory, so for him is

The folding up from Surat Al-Ikhlas coming to it.

وسورةُ الفلقِ النوريّ جاء بها

للناسِ والله من ضرٍّ يعافيه

And Surat Al-Falaq the luminous, He brought it

For people, and Allah from harm gives well-being to it.

فهذه سورُ القرآنِ أجمعها

جمعتُ أسماءها لرغبتي فيه

So these are the surahs of the Quran, I gathered them,

I gathered their names for my desire in it.

بالحجر حجر وحي النحل حين سَرى

بفتيةِ الكهفِ في قربٍ من التيه

ومريمُ ثم طه فلتقلْ بهما

في الأنبياء بما أسمعتكم فيه

وإنّ زلزلةَ الإصعاق قال بها

المؤمنون لسرٍّ فيه يوحيه

النورُ فرقانُ من أفتنه ظلمته

والنملُ في قصص لها تجافيد

والعنكبوتُ بنتْ بيتاً لتسكنه

والروم تهدمه وقتاً وتبنيه

وجاء لقمان يتلو بيننا حكماً

بسجدةٍ لترى الأحزابَ تأتيه

وفي سبا فطروا ياسين واعتمدوا

على الصفوفِ لصاد شربه فيه

لما أتتْ نحونا أملاكه زُمَرا

بمؤمنٍ فُصلتْ بما يلاقيه

نعم وفي سورة الشورى لنا مثلٌ

من الإله بتنزيه وتشبيه

أحقافه أوقعت فيها القتال وما

فتح لحجر بقاف إذ تقفيه

والذارياتُ التي في الطور مسكنُها

هي الدواء لمن قد جاء يبغيه
