إذا طلعت شمسُ الفناء الذي حجى

أكور بها حقاً إذا هو لم يكر

When the sun of oblivion rises and shines

I will rightly veil it, if it does not veil itself

بكوني إذا ما كنت خلعاً فإنه

نزيه عن أحكامٍ تكون عن الأكر

Since if I am stripped bare, it is still

Free from judgments that come with shame

إذا كان قد جاء الحديثُ بأنه

لأجل اختلافِ الاعتقاداتِ ذو غير

If it has been said that it is

Because beliefs differ, of diverse kinds

ولكنه بالذاتِ عند أولي النُّهى

غنيٌ بنصِّ الذكر في مُحكم السُّوَرِ
