إذا أخذ الفرقان من كان يتقي

جزاءً لتقواه وعفواً وتكفيرا

When the righteous are rewarded

For their piety, pardoned and absolved

فما بعدَ ذا من غاية يطلبونها

سوى قربه الأعلى وجوباً وتقريرا

What further aim do they pursue

Save His sublime proximity imposed and affirmed

ففي جنةِ المأوى وُجوداً محققاً

وفي جنته المعنى جلالاً وتوقيرا

In Heaven's abode a real existence

And in its essence, majesty and veneration

لأنّ اقترابَ الذاتِ قربَ مسافة

محالٌ عليها فالتزمْ ذاك تعزيزا

For nearing the Essence is nearing distance

An impossibility so adhere to this assertion

تباركتَ أنت الله في كلِّ صورة

كذا جاء في القرآن كبِّره تكبيرا

Blessed are You, O God in every aspect

Thus revealed in the Quran, glorify Him greatly

وأنتَ شَرَعتَ الله أكبر من كذا

فحيّر أهلَ الفكر قولُك تحييرا

You decreed God is greater than such

Perplexing the wise with your speech perplexingly

لذاك ترى أهل الحقئق شمَّروا

ذيولهم عن أخذهم فيه تشميرا

Thus you see the people of truth rolled up

Their sleeves from taking it up busily

وأوّله أهلُ العقولِ بفكرهم

ولو سلَّموه مثلنا كان توفيرا

And the people of intellect began it

With their thoughts though had we surrendered like them it would have sufficed

لقد أطلق الله العليمُ مقالةً

بزهواته فيها تدمره تدميرا

Indeed God, the All-Knowing, uttered a word

With his boastings in it destroying him destroyingly
