O my two friends, set out early in the morning
And seek out Najd and its highlands
Draw water at the folds of the winding valleys
And take shade under the lost one’s acacia trees
And when you come to the valley of Mina
Wherein lies that which has filled my heart
Convey my loving greetings
To all who alight there or pass through
And listen to how they respond
And inform me of the plaints of my heart
Complaining as it does of the wounds of love
Announcing, inquiring, questioning
