لما تعدَّى حفظه أعيانَها
حفظاً إلهياً إلى الجيرانِ
When he memorized its entities beyond
A divine memorization to the neighbors
فبنيت إسلامي عليها محكماً
أركانه فيحل من بنياني
So I built my Islam on it strongly
Its pillars so it solves from my building
الله كرَّمنا بدولة أحمد
كرماً يعم شرائعَ الإحسانِ
Allah honored us with the state of Ahmed
An honor that covers the laws of benevolence
شهدتْ بذلك نيتي وطويتي
وإن امترى في ذلك الثَّقَلان
My intention and my folding testified to that
Even if the two heavy things differ in it
لما سرى سرّ الوجودِ بجودِه
في عالم الأرواح والأبدان
When the secret of existence flowed with his generosity
In the world of spirits and bodies
شهدتْ حقائقه بأنَّ وجودَه
قد عمنا في الحكم والأعيان
Its realities testified that his existence
Has covered us in ruling and entities
لما التفت بناظري لم أطلع
إلا إليه فإنه بعياني
When I glanced with my eyes I did not see
Except towards Him, for He is my sight
لو كان ثَم سواه كنت مُقسماً
بين الإله وعالمِ الأكوان
If there was other than Him, I would have sworn
Between God and the world of universes
فانظر لما تحوي عليه قصيدتي
من كل علم قام عن برهان
So look at what my poem contains
Of every science established by proof
لو أن رسطاليس أو أفلاطناً
في عصرنا لأقرَّ بالحرمان
If Aristotle or Plato in our time
Would acknowledge deprivation
من عدَّل الميزان يعرف قولنا
ويقرُّ بالنقصانِ والخسران
Whoever balanced the scale knows our words
And acknowledges deficiency and loss
لا تُخسِرُوا الميزانَ إنَّ عقولكم
دون الذي أعنيه في الرجحان
Do not lose the scale, your minds
Are below what I mean in weighting
اقرأ كتاب الله فاتحةَ الهدى
فجميع ما يحويه في العنوان
Read God's book, the opening of guidance
All that it contains in the title
إنَّ الإله الحقّ أعلم كونها
عين الصلاة وإنها قسمان
Indeed, the true God knows its entity
The essence of prayer, and it is two parts
لما قرأتُ كتابه في خلوةٍ
معصومة من خاطرِ الشيطانِ
When I read His book in seclusion
Safe from the idea of Satan
عاينتُ فيه مَعالماً بدلائل
لا يَمتري في صدقها اثنان
I saw in it features with evidence
That two do not doubt its truth
لوأنّ عبدَ الفكر يشهدُ قوانا
لم ينتطح في سرِّنا عَنزان
If the worshiper of thought witnessed our principles
He would not butt into our secret, a goat
لكنهم لما تعبد فكرُهم
ألبابَهم بعدوا عن الفُرقان
But when their thought worshiped them
Their minds after straying from the Criterion
إن تتق الله الذي يجعل لك
الفرقان بين الحقِّ والبُهتان
If you fear God who makes for you
The Criterion between truth and falsehood
لو وفقوا ما لفقوا أقوالَ من
لعبوا بهم كتلاعبِ الوِلدان
If they were guided they would not have compiled words of those
Who played with them like the playing of boys
والكلُّ في التحقيقِِ أمرٌ واحدٌ
في أصله بالنص والبرهان
And everything in fact is one thing
In origin, in text and in proof
نطقتْ بذلك ألسنٌ معلومة
بإصابةِ التحقيق في التبيان
Articulate tongues have spoken of this
In hitting the mark in the statement
لو أنهم شهدوا الذي أشهدته
ما قام في ألبابهم حكمان
If they had witnessed what I witnessed
No two judgments would have stood in their minds
لعبتْ بهم أهواؤهم فهمُ لها
عند اللبيبِ كسائرِ الحيوان
Their whims played with them, so they near
The intelligent are like the rest of the animals
إنَّ النجاةَ لمن يقلِّد ربّه
فيما أتاه به وهم صنفان
Indeed salvation is for those who imitate their Lord
In what came to them, and they are two types
صنفٌ يراه شهودُ عينٍ دائماً
أو في حجابٍ عنه وهو الثاني
A type that sees Him constantly witnessing with an eye
Or veiled from Him, and that is the second
