قل إلى الكوكبِ السعيدِ أمامي

عن هلالين طالعين أمامي

Say to the happy star before me

About two crescent moons rising before me

فإذا استقبلا إليّ جميعاً

كنتَ سرَّ الليال والأيام

So if they both face towards me

You would be the secret of my nights and days

وإذا أدبرا بقيتُ وحيداً

ساهراً لا أذوق طعمَ المنام

And if they turn away, I remain alone

Sleepless, unable to taste the flavour of sleep

ذاك نور الوجود بالحقِّ يسعى

من ورائي به ومن قُدَّامي

That is the light of existence, truly hastening

Behind me, with it and before me

يومَ فقري ويوم حشري لربي

وبه همتي ومنه اهتمامي

The day of my poverty and resurrection before my Lord

And in it is my determination and my concern

إن سرِّي وإنّ سرَّ حبيبي

واحد أولاً وعندَ الختامِ

Indeed my secret and indeed the secret of my beloved

One first and at the conclusion

هو غيري إذا بعثت رسولاً

وهو داري بقدس دار نظامي

It is other than me when I send a messenger

And it is my abode in the sanctuary of my system

خادمي نوري الذي كان عندي

والذي عند من هويت أمامي

My servant, my light that was with me

And that which faces whom I loved before me

يا أخي فالتفت لحالك وانظر

لوجودي بطرفك المتعامي

O my brother, so turn to your state and see

To my existence with your overlooking eye

هو غير إذا افترقت أمامي

وإذا ما اجتمعت كنت أمامي

It is other when we separate before me

And when we gather, I am before me
