مقولاتُ أهل العلمِ محصورةُ الكمِّ

بجوهر أعراضٍ مع الكيفِ والكم

The sayings of the people of knowledge are limited in quantity

With the essence of attributes along with quality and quantity

وتتلو إضافاتٌ ووضعٌ محقق

ولفظُ متى والأين منها لذي أم

And derivations and definitions follow

And the word "when" and "where" are among them for the one with worry

وفاعل أشياء ومنفعل له

وما ثم إلا ما ذكرت من الحكم

And the doer of things and the recipient for Him

And there is nothing else but what I mentioned of the wisdom

وقد قسموا لفظي فلفظٌ محقق

يدل على معنى كما جاء في العلم

And they have divided the word into an actual word

That indicates a meaning as came in knowledge

وإن قدَّموا المعنى عليه فإنه

يدل عليه أيّ لفظ لذي فهم

And if they put the meaning before it, then

It indicates it whatever word for the one with understanding

وقد حصروا في المفردات حقائقاً

كجنسٍ ونوعٍ ثم فصلٍ بلا قسم

And they have limited in vocabularies realities

Like genus and species, then differentia without division

ويتلوه ما يختصُّ منه بذاته

وعارض أمر لم أقل ذاك عن وهم

And what is special to it in itself follows

And a contingent matter I did not say that out of delusion

فتقتص الأفرادُ بالحدِّ والذي

تركَّبَ منها بالبراهين في علمي

So individuals are derived with definition and what

Is composed of them with proofs in my knowledge

فبرهانُ تحقيقٍ وبرهانُ رافع

وبرهانُ إفصاحٍ وسفسطةُ الخصمِ

So proof of verification and proof of refutation

And proof of elaboration and sophistry of the adversary

وما ثَم إلا ما ذكرتُ فحققوا

ولا تك من أهلِ التحكم والظلمِ

And there is nothing else but what I mentioned so verify

And do not be of the people of coercion and injustice

فإني أتيت الأمر في ذاك قاصداً

فقل وتنزه عن ملامي وعن ذمي

For I came to the matter in that intending

So speak and abstain from blaming me and from insulting me

وهذي علومٌ إن تأملتها بدا

لعين سناها في الإضاءة كالنجم

And these are sciences, if you contemplate them, it appears

To the eye that magnified them in illumination like a star

وما لفظه إلا مثالٌ محقق

لها فانظروه بالتقاسيم في القسم

And its wording is only an actual example

For them so look at it with the divisions in the division
