Gazelle-like in appearance, crescent moon-like in brilliance

Lighthouse-like in bearing, radiant in meeting

رمتنا بألحاظ تلذ سهامها

فيا ليتها في القلب لم ترم الرميا

She glanced at me with pleasing arrows

If only they had not struck my heart with her shots

فقد صاد ليث الغاب ظبي كنيسة

فأعجب به ليثا وأعجب به ظبيا

The lion of the forest hunted a church gazelle

The lion admired it and the gazelle admired him
