صنعت بيَ الأيامُ في أرضِ قاشا
نَ صنيعَ الحروفِ بالأسماءِ
The days in the land of Qasha have made of me
A maker of letters into names
بين قومٍ جميعُ حظيَ منهم
أن يسمّونَني من الظرفاءِ
Among a people all of whom it was destined
To call me one of the noble
