1. ومدلّلٍ دقّت محا

    سنُ وجهه عن أن تُكيَّف

    With a delicate, refined beauty

    His face is too noble to be veiled

  2. تركَ التصنُّع للجما

    فكان أظرفَ للتّظرًُّف

    He has left affectation to the masses

    Thus he is most graceful in his manners

  3. لو أنّ وجهَ البدرش يشب

    هُ وجهَه ما كان يُكسَف

    If the full moon's face were to resemble

    His face, it would not be eclipsed

  4. الصُّدغُ مسكٌ والثنا

    يا لؤلؤٌ والرِّيقُ قَرقَف

    His temples are musk, his front teeth

    Pearls, his saliva pure wine

  5. والوردُ من وجناتهِ

    بأنامل الألحاظِ يُقطَف

    And the roses from his cheeks

    Are plucked by the glances' fingers
