لا تنصبن عاملا

إِلا أَميناً عادِلا

Do not appoint an employee

Except one who is trustworthy and just

بِحسب الكِفاية

لا الحُب وَالعِناية

According to need

Not love and care

بر القَريب الأَدنى

وَراعه بِالحُسنى

Do good to the nearest relative

And guide him with the best

وَاعط مِن تحبه

مالك يَصف قَلبه

And give from what you love

To soften his heart

دون أُمور المالك

تَأمن دَواعي الهلك

Without the affairs of money

You will be safe from ruin

وَول مَن يَكفيكا

تَكُن لَهُ مَليكا

And whoever suffices you

Will be your angel

وَمَن يَخاف سَيفكا

إِن خافَ لاقى حيفكا

And whoever fears your sword

If he fears, he will meet your injustice

وَمَن إِذا عاقبته

ظَنك قَد راقبته

And whoever when you punish him

Thinks you have watched over him

العُروة الوَثيقه

تجنب الخَليقه

The firm handhold

Avoids people

من لَزم الطريقه

صارَت لَهُ خَليقه

Whoever adheres to the path

It will become proper for him

قارن طريفا تظرف

صاحب شريفاً تشرف

Accompany a gentle one, you gentle

Befriend a noble one, you noble

الزم كَريماً تَنتفع

عذ بِمنبع تمتنع

Befriend a generous one, you benefit

Take care from a spring, you refrain

لا تبطرن بنعمه

لا تهتكن حرمه

Do not betray the blessing

Do not violate sanctity

لا تغدرن بذمه

كَفى بذاك وَصمه

Do not betray the covenant

That is enough blame

إِياكَ وَالقَساوه

فَإِنَّها شَقاوه

Beware of cruelty

For it is misery

ما أقبح التكبرا

ما أَصعَب التصَبُّرا

How ugly arrogance is

How difficult patience is
