  2. شَر القضاة المُرتَشي

    شَر الولاة المُنتَشي

    The worst governors are the pillagers

    Of the most wicked deeds

  3. مِن أَخبَث الأَعمال

    عَداوة الرِّجال

    Is enmity amongst men

    Of foolish dreams

  4. من سفه الأَحلام

    مَودة اللئام

    Is befriending scoundrels

    Of miserable days

  5. مِن نَكد الأَيام

    شَقاوة الكِرام

    Is the wretchedness of nobles

    Expose yourselves and make peace

  6. اِفتضحوا وَاِصطلحوا

    وَعدّلوا وَجرحوا

    Reform and reconcile

    Of the tribulations of nights

  7. مِن محن الليالي

    تقدم الجهال

    Is the advance of ignoramuses

    No honor like pretending

  8. لا عِزَّ كَالتَّظاهُر

    لا جُندَ كَالتَّظافر

    No army like cooperating

    No disgrace like cowardice

  9. لا ذلَ كَالتَّخاذل

    لا عَجزَ كَالتَّواكل

    No disability like total dependence

    The enemies reach

  10. يَبلغ بِالأَعداءِ

    في الخطب وَاللأواء

    In calamities and afflictions

    Exaggerations of remedy

  11. مبالغ الدواء

    مِن معضل الأَدواء

    Of the most complex remedies
