Gray hair descended upon my temples as a guest
Whom may God water as a guest and neighbor
And clothed me in every description
Of an old man's traits, except dignity
And made me drink from his harm goblets
That sometimes prove bitter, not restorative
I die except that my heart is alive
Loving passion and inclined towards loss
It contends, after having refused angrily
What it borrowed from the absences of youth
What can you do, tell me, by God
I do not see you having power over it
As I, in the side of the house, am feeble
Unable to take steps except short
