    أم له في هوى المِلاح نصيبُ

  2. يا فقاحَ المِلاح ما لقضبي

    كلّ يوم يأتي عليه عصيبُ

    O blossoms of the beautiful, what ails my boughs?

    Each day hardship comes upon it.

  3. إنّ جلدي عميرةض قد براني

    فأنا مغرَمٌ سقيمٌ كئيبُ

    Thus I am love-stricken, sick, and sorrowful—

    آنسٌ نافرٌ بعيدٌ قريبُ
