1. كم مُقلَةٍ من مُقَلِ الحُور

    تَبسمُ بين الت ّينِ والطُّورِ

    How many bashful maidens glance coy

    Smiling amid date palms and Mount Tuur

  2. كحلاءُ دَعجاءُ ولكنّها

    تنظرُ مِن نورٍ على نُورِ

    With kohl-rimmed eyes, so lovely and yet

    Gazing with Light upon Light so pure

  3. مِسكيَّةٌ عَرفاً ولوناً فإن

    تَرقرقَت سالَت بكافُور

    Of musky scent and hue - when she but turns

    Her countenance, camphor flows for sure

  4. تلكَ الّتي بوركَ في رِسلِها

    فانبجَسَت بالعَبَقِ الجُوري

    She in whose honor blessings were bestowed

    Upon the prophets, and musk did pour

  5. تُنبِتُ بالدُّهنِ وصِبغٍ لهُ

    لدونةٌ في كُلِّ حُنجُورِ

    With oils and dyes that please, in every box

    She holds a yearning heart held in her cure

  6. صَافِي ضَمير الغَيبِ ذِي رونَقٍ

    من ريقَةِ الجَونَةِ مَقصُورِ

    Of spirit pure, graced with a brilliant light

    Confined in a pearl shell kept secure

  7. سُبحانَ مَن أَبدعَهُ كَوكباً

    مُلتَمِعاً من قطعِ دَيجُورِ

    Glory to He who made her as a star

    Studded with gems of gold immature

  8. يا جَنّةً أرَّقنِي حُبُّها

    هل لكِ في نَفثَةِ مَصدُورِ

    O Paradise, your love leaves me distraught

    Can you whisper to my breast obscure?

  9. ما تَأمُرينَ اليومَ في وامِقٍ

    يُدنيكِ من قَلبٍ وتامور

    What do you command today, at daybreak

    Drawing you closer to my heart demure?

  10. يا حَبَّذا دَوحُكِ من ناعِمٍ

    مُستصحَبِ البَهجَةِ منظُورِ

    Blessed is your presence, so gentle and kind

    Bringing joy made visible, seen for sure

  11. يرفُل في سُندسِ أَبرادِه

    إذا تَعرَّى كلُّ يَخضُورِ

    He saunters in silk robes, when all plants fade

    And verdant hills no more their hues endure

  12. إن كُفِرَ الكَرمُ فما زلتَ ذا

    جَيبٍ على الإيمان مَزرُورِ

    If generosity's denied, you remain still

    True in your faith, with goodness made secure

  13. تلكَ يُوَلّيها الخَنا أهلُها

    وخُطَّة الإسرافِ والزّورِ

    While others fall to vice and lies, you stand

    As shelter and safety, blessed and pure

  14. وأنت طُهرٌ وأمانٌ لَنا

    من كُلّ مَخشِيٍّ ومَحذُورِ

    Nearest to God are houses, if left empty,

    Far from all that His law does abjure

  15. أُنسُ بُيوتِ اللَهِ إن أوحشَت

    وبُعدُها من كُلّ مَحظُورِ

    The best of good is this which will remain

    Noble through days, of virtues most mature

  16. فأَشرَف الخيرُ الّذي لم يزَل

    ذا شرَفٍ في الدَّهرِ مَذكُورِ

    Pour down on us from your garden carried

    In a sea, with bounty running o'er

  17. أَفِض عَلينا من جَناكَ الّذي

    فاضَ بِبَحرٍ فيكَ مَسجُورِ

    By your efforts made in faith, surpassing all

    Oaths of slaves whose deeds have no tenure

  18. حِلفيَ أَولى من دِنانٍ غَدا

    سَعيُكَ فيها غَيرُ مشكورِ

    Is there, in one whose heart is freshly tender

    Reward each morn for you, made safe and sure?

  19. هل لكَ في ذي كَبِدٍ رَطبَةٍ

    تُصبِحُ فيها جِدَّ مأجُورِ
