In the morning, dazzling, sparing no effort
He scolds me for drinking old coffee
I said, Father of Rocks, let people be ignorant
With you is pure radiance
You see, when water mingles with her body
She caresses the interwoven palm branch
She has ambergris scent that goes away with the wind
Bewildering her senses with kind caressing
And how often a clear-sighted blamer finds grace through her
She shoots him with a slipping arrow
So he remained biting regret
His hands, and screams after long silence
And Ibn Badr said, you have an excuse for she who
Consoles the worries of the enamored enthralled one
So I am no Ibn Sakhra to stop drinking coffee
For the sayings of an ignorant, insolent fool
Who scolds me for drinking while drinking consumes him
So he may be counted as one of sound opinion and honest witness
For I am neither Al-Gharra nor Ibn Sakhra nor one who
Insists stubbornly on something perilous
