My love's surprise at a chained captive
My love wonders at a prisoner bound in shackles,
The cross of his walking stick remains on the coffin
Strong of resolve, enduring the shuffling gait.
So wonder not at me, forlorn of my dear
So do not wonder at me, O wife of Malik,
For time brings constant change
For thus does Time bring about its tribulations.
