Alas! The raven perched upon your back,
Did the crow caw at you at noon?
Alas! Of that dust, some still clings in your wings.
Nay, may your mouth be filled with dust!
The raven tells us you shall come no more,
The crow brings news that they will depart—
Our loved one lost, o raven, we now deplore.
Our beloveds; may you perish, O crow!
