I sleep while my heart is awake to anguish
And my eyes trail the hem of the long robe of night.
I suffer thirsty with grand thoughts I veil
From a sea aflame in Hell raging hot.
And I am content with a meager life in the shadow of exile,
If at my going I am borne in safety.
And I bear the wrong done me by a villain I thought
Noble, while my lot gives me to mean men.
