يا من حملتِ إلهَ العاملين ومن

منها تجسَّد ذا من غير ما رجلِ

O you who carried the God of the worlds and from

Whom He incarnated, He who has no equal

بِكراً وَلدت وأنت البكر ذا عجبٌ

عن البكارة في الميلاد لم تَحُل

You gave birth as a virgin, and you are the virgin, a wonder

Virginity in birth did not disappear from you

سِمعانُ سِمعانُ هذا الإبن يَرضع من

عذراء قد جل عن مِثلٍ وعن مَثل

Simeon, Simeon this son nurses from

A virgin, exalted above any equal or peer

فاقبله طفلاً أتتك الأم حاملةً

له وفيها اختفى كالشمس في الطَفَل

So accept Him as a child, the mother came carrying

Him and in her the sun hid as in a baby

هذا الأسير طليق العمر ذا عجباً

فهل رأيت أسيراً غير معتَقل

This prisoner, free of age, a wonder

Did you ever see a prisoner not imprisoned?

أتاكِ مريمُ يبغي عِتقَه فإذا

سعيتِ في موته ينجو من الخبَل

Mary came to you seeking his freedom, so if

You strive in his death, he will be saved from ruin

غِيثي أسيراً تحاماه الحِمام فإن

نأتيه بابنك لم يَثبُت بلا أجل

Help a prisoner protected by doves, for if

We bring you your son, he will not last without a term
