يا ليتكم

أن تسمعوا

Oh, if only you would

Hear what you said

ما قلتمو

ه أو تعوا

Or comprehend

Perhaps you would

فعساكمُ

أن تهجعوا

Retract your blame

Of one who does not malign

عن لومٍ من

لا يشنع

Sleep overcame rancor

And they became cordial

نمَّ الوشا

ةُ ونواعوا

To what they had maligned

And rallied around

ما شنعو

هُ وشيعوا

When rallying against me

And were unjust

لمَّا علي

يَ تجمعوا

And hurt

With injustice and lies that deter

وتظلموا

وتوجعوا

My masters

Put me aside

ظلماً وكذ

باً يردع

Or regard the signs of affliction or leave

Those among you

يا سادتي

عني ضعوا

Who entrusted

What they did

وِقرَ الملا

مةِ أو دعوا

And maligned

Return to me and come back

مَن فيكمُ

قد أودعوا

Let not your hearing

Mislead you

ما صنَّعوا

هُ وشنَّعوا

Do not despair

Or be in despair

عودوا إلي

ي وإرجعوا

I am not misled by you

Nor am I pretentious

لا يَخدعنْ

كم مِسمَع

In what you see me do

And my heart is infatuated

لا تجزعوا

أو فاجزعوا

With praising those

Who intercede

إني بكم

لا أُخدَع

For us and in whom is hope

Who comes from it

حقّاً ولا

أتصنَّع

To elevate us

And repel enmity from us

فيما ترو

ني أصنع

My advice to you is to hasten

And knock on the door of the Merciful

والقلب من

ني مولَع

For it is hope

And refuge

في مدح من

تتشفَّع

فينا وفي

ها المَطمع

مَن جاء مِن

ها يَرفع

عنّا العنا

ء ويَدفع

نُصحي لكم

أن تُسرعوا

ولِبابِ مر

يمَ فاقرعوا

فهي الرجا

والمفزع
