How silent are many virtuous people

إن اللسان بشرِِّه

يُفني الملوك مع الممالك

The tongue with its stings

Destroys kings along with their kingdoms

فاسلك طريقاً سالكاً

واترك طريقاً غير سالك

So take a frequented path

And leave the path less traveled

لو ظل بطرس صامتاً

لم ينتحب والليلُ حالك

If Peter had remained silent

He would not have wept into the dark night

ويسوع عند سكوته

أخزى حواسدَه بذلك

And Jesus by his silence

Humiliated his enemies thus

حالان فاختر منهما

حالاً يُفيد لحسن حالك
