ها هيكلُ اِسرائيل أشرفُ منزلٍ

في الأرض لكن كل يومٍ ينقُصُ

Behold Israel’s Temple, the noblest dwelling

on earth—yet each day it diminishes,

حتى تلاشى ثم قامت مريم ال

عذراء هيكلنا به نتخلَّصُ

until it vanished; then Mary, the

Virgin, arose—our temple, through which we are saved.

فلذاك كانت منه أشرفَ هيكلاً

إذ حل فيه القادر المتخصصُ

For that reason she was a temple nobler than it,

since within it dwelt the Almighty, the distinguished One.
